Replace Missing Teeth and Smile With Confidence

Your teeth play an important role in speaking, chewing, and maintaining proper alignment of other teeth. Dental bridges can restore up to four adjacent missing teeth to reverse the effects of tooth loss.

At Buck Family Dentistry, our restorative dentist in Creston, IA, will ensure your bridges match your surrounding teeth for a natural appearance. Dr. Michael Buck has helped patients in Corning, Thayer, and Aspen repair their smiles with reliable dental restorations.

What Are Dental Bridges?

Dental bridges can replace one or more missing teeth using replacement teeth called pontics attached to one or more dental crowns. Crowns get placed on the teeth adjacent to the bridge, called abutment teeth. The pontic is suspended between the crowns to fill the gap left by missing teeth. Bridges help restore your smile’s function, health, and appearance.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

There are several advantages to dental bridge restorations, such as:

Durability & Longevity

With proper care, dental bridges can last up to 15 years before needing replacement.

Natural Appearance

Dr. Buck will ensure your dental bridge matches your smile’s shape, size, and color for a seamless appearance.

Short, Minimally Invasive Procedure

Placing dental bridges and abutments is a minimally invasive procedure that can be completed in as few as two visits to our Creston dentist.

Preserves Facial Shape

Tooth loss often results in shifting teeth, which can alter your facial appearance. Bridges keep teeth in line and prevent changes to your facial shape.

Affordable Treatment

Unlike dental implant placement, dental bridges are an affordable tooth loss treatment that won’t break the bank.

The Dental Bridge Process

The attachment procedure usually takes two or three appointments, depending on your oral health needs. At your first appointment, Dr. Michael Buck will prepare the teeth on either side of the gap by removing a portion of the enamel and dentin.

Since the bridge must be fabricated precisely to ensure the correct bite and to match the opposing tooth, impressions of the teeth are taken and sent to a lab where they’ll construct your customized bridge.

Our dentist will cement your fixed bridge to the natural teeth next to the space left by the missing teeth. A pontic (false tooth) replaces the lost tooth, and dental crowns support the bridge.
