What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that uses a series of clear, removable aligners to straighten your teeth. The aligners are made using 3D computer imaging technology, which allows Dr. Michael Buck, a Gold+ Invisalign Provider, to create a customized treatment plan for each patient.

Benefits of Invisalign

Invisalign offers several advantages over traditional metal braces, such as:

Nearly Invisible

Invisalign aligners are clear and virtually invisible, making them a popular choice for adults who are self-conscious about the appearance of traditional metal braces.

Comfortable

Invisalign aligners are made of smooth, comfortable plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks or gums. There are no brackets or wires to adjust, meaning fewer visits to the orthodontist.

Removable

Invisalign aligners are removable, which means you can eat and drink whatever you like during treatment. You can also brush and floss normally, which can be difficult with traditional braces.

Effective

Invisalign is an effective orthodontic treatment that can correct a range of dental problems, including crowded teeth, gaps, overbites, underbites, and crossbites.

Shorter Treatment Time

In some cases, Invisalign treatment can be faster than traditional braces. Treatment time varies depending on the severity of the case, but most people complete treatment in 12 to 18 months.

Predictable Results

Invisalign uses advanced computer imaging technology to create a customized treatment plan for each patient. This means you can see what your teeth will look like before you even start treatment.

Candidacy for Invisalign

Some factors that may make someone a good candidate for Invisalign treatment include:

  • Mild to moderate misalignment or spacing issues
  • Fully developed adult teeth and jaws
  • Good oral hygiene habits and overall oral health
  • Commitment to wearing the aligners for the recommended 22 hours
  • Willingness to follow all instructions provided by Dr. Buck, including regular check-ups and proper care of the aligners
  • Realistic expectations for the outcome of treatment

The Invisalign Process

Unlike traditional braces that use metal wires and brackets, Invisalign aligners are made of virtually invisible clear plastic. You wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, for at least 20 to 22 hours. You remove the aligners only when you eat, drink, brush, and floss your teeth. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will gradually shift until they’ve straightened to the final position.
